And so ends my Photoshop journey with Mougel, who inspired me, taught me advanced techniques and guided me towards the right direction. Through his help I was able to create my final project, which required advanced, heavy digital composting.
This piece reflects the amount of digital compositing that I enjoy undergoing. Every element is a separate picture combined together with Photoshop: sky at sunset, water from the ocean, sand from the beach, etc. To create the planets, I took pictures of textures that had the right characteristics and then followed tutorials online to spherize these textures. I created the mountains at the beach by molding them from a mixture of dry and wet sand.
This planet is set in the future, during a time of off-world colonization. To colonize planets, you need inhabitants. To get people to come, you must advertise the planet. This is the purpose of the photo, to show the beauty of Eden Prime. Each element of the image is meant to show a serene world: a sea of tranquility, mountains surrounded in a soft mist, soft scattered clouds, the sun just above the horizon, and so on.
I hope you enjoy my final piece.

The Encounter
After a full week of intense work I finally finished creating my first alien. A lot work was involved prior to the post production process. To create the alien, I shot 5 girls and then blended tehir faces together. I then distorted the face even more to create the alien. The texture on the alien's body is actually water from the beach. Each part of the environment was shot at different locations. The mountains were actually made out of sand at the beach. The planet in the sky was made through Photoshop. I blended four skies together and to get the right formation of clouds. The image was originally black and white. To color it, used the brush tool (set to normal) and painted on an empty layer (set to soft light).

Assignment two idea: The Extraterrestrial
Once again I want to create the unreal person in an unreal environment. To make it more complex, the unreal person will be another life form. The environment wont seem futuristic. It will be a more fantasy setting, similar to my previous Rumpelstiltskin project. The reason for this is because I do not want the theme to be about the advanced technology of other life forms. I want the focus to be on the character of the alien itself. The photo is mainly about documenting an encounter with another life form. It will be essential to first draw out the character and setting exactly the way I want it.
Inspiration:

Inspiration:
- Three images with different alien and different but similar background
- Color (vivid and painted in with soft light layer): reddish brownish, purples, dark greens, blues
- General composited elements: Sky, Ground, Alien
- Natural specific Elements: scattered trees, fog, stars, distant planets, mountains
- Alien: face will be made of four people, different skin color from humans but not vivid. Foundation of original skin will be pale.
