And so ends my Photoshop journey with Mougel, who inspired me, taught me advanced techniques and guided me towards the right direction. Through his help I was able to create my final project, which required advanced, heavy digital composting.
This piece reflects the amount of digital compositing that I enjoy undergoing. Every element is a separate picture combined together with Photoshop: sky at sunset, water from the ocean, sand from the beach, etc. To create the planets, I took pictures of textures that had the right characteristics and then followed tutorials online to spherize these textures. I created the mountains at the beach by molding them from a mixture of dry and wet sand.
This planet is set in the future, during a time of off-world colonization. To colonize planets, you need inhabitants. To get people to come, you must advertise the planet. This is the purpose of the photo, to show the beauty of Eden Prime. Each element of the image is meant to show a serene world: a sea of tranquility, mountains surrounded in a soft mist, soft scattered clouds, the sun just above the horizon, and so on.
I hope you enjoy my final piece.
